This postcard shows Midland Avenue looking east. What corner is this?
On June 1, 2004, Tom List offered his guess (and I concur with it): I am not that old, but I grew up in Kearny. I would tend to guess that is Midland and Beech, looking down Midland (east towards NYC). I could be wrong, but look at the next street down, off of Midland. It looks like the building that has Aanensen's. Again, I could be wrong, it is hard to tell without seeing the other side of the Street. On July 26, 2005, Karen Diane Lontka gave a definitive answer: Just looking at some of the new pictures. The one that is entitled "P9756 Midland Ave looking east" is most definitely the corner of Beech St and Midland Ave. I grew up in the apartment that is above the stores, 130 Beech St. During the 50's the corner store was Phil and Iris's soda fountain. Next to it various stores, i remember a cleaner. The big store was an A&P
