Office of the East Newark Gas Light Co Divided back post card of Midland Avenue, Arlington, Hudson County, New Jersey. Postmarked 1907, very good condition; bumped corners. Building on corner is the "Office of the East Newark Gas Light Co." Next door within same structure, the red and white striped awning is imprinted with the words "ICE CREAM". As it is sewn into the awning rather than just a sign advertising ice cream, I would presume this is an ice cream parlor rather than a seller of a brand name ice cream. Trolley tracks can be seen running down middle of street. Published by F.G. Temme Co., Orange, N.J., and Leipzig, Germany. Also shown is much the same view as it appeared in November, 2007. |
